A Customer Relationship Becomes a Local Commitment
Innowave Tech opened its Taiwan office in Hsinchu in August 2026, just over a year after its first customer meeting in the market. The milestone followed a progression from an initial project to wider engagement across the semiconductor industry: a local presence built around work already under way.
When Head of Solutions Mike Feng arrived in Hsinchu in June 2025, he expected a patient process of introductions, repeated visits and relationship-building. The company’s experience in Germany had shaped that expectation. Taiwan took a different course. At the first meeting, the manufacturer’s challenges connected directly with what Innowave Tech’s technology could offer, and the conversation developed into a project with a major Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer.
That first project became the starting point for further conversations and deeper engagements. In his September 2026 account, Head of Solutions Mike Feng reported that Innowave Tech was working with three of Taiwan’s largest semiconductor manufacturers, with several multi-year projects in the pipeline. The distinction is important to the story: there was established customer work, alongside further opportunities still being developed.
Why the Office Matters
The office gives those relationships a local foundation. In Head of Solutions Mike Feng’s account, the speed of the expansion reflected a close fit between manufacturers’ needs and the company’s technology, supported by customers’ trust, partners and a team ready to deliver. The opening marks a commitment to continue serving that ecosystem as the relationships develop.
For a company entering a new market, the first project and the decision to establish a presence answer different questions. The project demonstrates that there is a specific problem worth working on together. A local base signals an intention to stay involved beyond the first engagement. Taiwan’s story brings the two together: the office followed customer activity and now provides a base from which to support it.
Two Markets, Different Routes to Trust
Germany provides a useful comparison. In a separate June 2026 announcement, Head of Solutions Mike Feng described the company’s incorporation in Germany, with Dresden as its base for customers and partners across Germany and the wider EU. That journey began with a first direct customer discussion in March 2024 and continued through repeated visits and conversations with foundries, mask makers, wafer companies, equipment manufacturers and technology partners.
The contrast is in the pace and path of entry. Germany required sustained engagement before the company established its base; Taiwan’s first customer conversation moved quickly into project work. Both accounts place industrial needs and relationships at the center of the decision to commit locally.
The next chapter in Taiwan therefore builds on a concrete starting point: existing customer engagements, a newly opened office and a pipeline of possible longer-term work. The Hsinchu base gives Innowave Tech a place from which to develop those relationships and contribute to the semiconductor ecosystem that made the expansion possible.
